THE GIRL WHO DREW A BETTER BEE WORLD

She was mean to her brother,
but she was kind to nature.

She loves koalas.
She loves
She loves bees.

Her anger could sting,
like a bee.

On a white piece of paper,
she drew.

Black lines on a skunk,
whose stinky stink protected her secret diary.

Balloons tied in a bunch,
lifting her higher than high in the sky.

Every detail shaping a world where she could live.

FROM THE AUTHOR: If something (big or small) goes wrong, my daughter can’t control her anger. Some people say: don’t poke the bear! We say: don’t hug the bee! When she gets mad, it feels to her and to us like there is no way to recover. When she draws, she finds a way to define a new space and see the world in a new way. This new world is always imaginative and beautiful, calm and thoughtful. We call it her better bee world and we want to share it with you and your kids. We all need to find a space or a place where you are happy and go there when you need to.
